Kleinburg: the village on the Humber
Kleinburg is the historic village in north-west Vaughan between two branches of the Humber River, bounded by Highway 27 on the west and Stegman's Mill Road on the east, with estate subdivisions spreading around it — home of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the Kortright Centre, Copper Creek Golf Club and the Binder Twine Festival. Pearson is 22 to 25 minutes via Major Mackenzie and the Highway 427 extension. Limousine bookings from Kleinburg are airport transfers from the estates, weddings and photographs at the McMichael, gallery and gala transportation, and long-distance trips north.
Kleinburg is the part of Vaughan that does not look like Vaughan. The village along Islington Avenue has restaurants, a general store, galleries and the Doctor's House; the McMichael sits on a hundred acres above the river with the Group of Seven's paintings inside and six of the artists buried on the grounds; the Kortright Centre is the conservation area to the south; and around all of it are the estate streets — long driveways, gates, acre lots — on Nashville Road, Kirby Road, Huntington and the Copper Creek and Kleinburg Summit developments. For a chauffeured service it is the community where the 5 a.m. pickup is furthest from anywhere else, which is precisely why cars are positioned here.
The airport run from Kleinburg
The Highway 427 extension to Major Mackenzie changed Kleinburg's relationship with Pearson: from the village, east on Major Mackenzie to the 427, south to the 409, into the terminals — 22 to 25 minutes off-peak, toll-free, and 30 to 40 in the morning rush because Major Mackenzie between Highway 27 and Weston is under widening and slow at school times. From Nashville Road and the northern estates, Highway 27 south to Major Mackenzie and the 427 is the route. The 427 is ploughed first in winter and rarely stopped; the chauffeur's only real decision is whether to leave five minutes earlier because of the Major Mackenzie construction, and the confirmation's pickup time already allows for it.

Pickup logistics: gates, driveways and the village
Most Kleinburg pickups involve a gate. Put the code, or "text on arrival and I'll open", in the notes at booking; the chauffeur will not ring a bell at 5 a.m. Long driveways take a sedan and an SUV easily and a Sprinter usually; a stretch is checked the night before. The village streets — Islington, Nashville Road at the crossroads, the lanes behind the shops — are narrow and busy on a summer weekend with gallery visitors and the Sunday drive crowd, and the chauffeur meets at the restaurant door rather than circling. The Binder Twine Festival in September closes Islington through the village for the day; bookings that weekend are routed around it.
The McMichael: weddings, photographs, galas
The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is the most photographed wedding location in Vaughan and one of the most-used in the GTA: couples marry in the grounds or elsewhere and come for the photographs among the pines, and the gallery hosts weddings, corporate events and galas. A wedding stretch from a Woodbridge church to the McMichael grounds to a Concord hall is a standard Vaughan circuit, and the wedding page covers it. For a gala, a fleet of sedans and SUVs from downtown hotels to the gallery and back is a corporate or event booking with a coordinator on our side. For a Sunday visit, an hourly chauffeur from Thornhill or downtown waits while you see the collection and takes you to lunch in the village.
Golf: Copper Creek and the country clubs
Copper Creek on Highway 27 hosts tournaments, corporate days and weddings; the National in Woodbridge, Kleinburg Golf Club, Nobleton Lakes and the King City courses are minutes away. A foursome from the office, a wedding party from the clubhouse to the church, a corporate day with a Sprinter shuttle from the hotel — all hourly bookings from cars already in the area.
Dinners and the village
The Kleinburg restaurants on Islington — the Doctor's House for the occasion, the trattorias and the bistro rows for a Friday — are a black car booking from the estates or from anywhere in Vaughan, with the chauffeur waiting at the door. Downtown Toronto is 40 minutes via the 427 and the Gardiner; the King City and Caledon country inns are twenty minutes north.
Corporate Kleinburg
Kleinburg's residents include a large share of Vaughan's business owners and executives, and the corporate account here is often personal: the Premium Sedan to Terminal 1 for the weekly flight, the hourly day between the head office in Woodbridge and clients downtown, the visiting partner from the airport to the house for dinner. The Kleinburg base means the car is at the gate at 5:15 rather than coming from the 400.
Families, schools and the north
Kleinburg's families book the March-break SUV to Terminal 3, the grandparents' arrival with meet-and-greet, and — because the village is closest of any Vaughan community to the countryside — the trips north: Blue Mountain via Highway 50 and the 400 in 95 minutes, Muskoka in two hours, the Hockley Valley in 45. Proms at the halls in June and the September university drop-off are the same as elsewhere in the city; see prom transportation.
Routes from Kleinburg
Pearson in 22–25; Billy Bishop in 45; downtown in 40; Niagara Falls in 95 via the 427 and the QEW; Blue Mountain in 95; Muskoka in 120; Buffalo Airport in two hours plus the border; Hamilton Airport in 65. Bolton and Caledon are ten minutes west on Highway 50 and are part of the service area.
Booking from Kleinburg
Address in the engine, gate code in the notes, fare fixed. For the McMichael, name the entrance — the main gate on Islington — and whether the pickup is at the gallery door or the grounds. For a wedding, the contact page builds the plan.
The streets and the estates, for anyone booking a pickup
Islington Avenue is the village's main street and the road south to Woodbridge — two lanes through the village, four south of Major Mackenzie — with the McMichael's gate, the restaurants and the Doctor's House on it. Nashville Road crosses it at the village's north end and runs west to Highway 27 and east toward Weston Road through the estate country. Major Mackenzie Drive is the southern edge and the route east to the 427 extension, the hospital and Maple; its widening between Highway 27 and Weston is the community's daily delay. Highway 27 is the western edge, the road north to Nobleton and Bolton and south to Chateau Le Jardin and Woodbridge. Kirby Road and Teston Road are the northern estate roads. Huntington Road runs north–south through the western estates toward Copper Creek. Stegman's Mill Road is the village's eastern boundary. The estate streets — Copper Creek, Kleinburg Summit, the courts off Nashville and Kirby — are gated or long-driveway addresses, and the chauffeur's night-before confirmation of the gate arrangement is the difference between a pickup on time and a bell rung at 5 a.m.
A Kleinburg week, from the dispatcher's screen
Monday: 5:15 a.m. at a Nashville Road gate for a Terminal 1 departure, a Premium Sedan for a business owner's weekly flight to New York, and an hourly day for a developer between the Kleinburg office and sites downtown. Tuesday: a customer from Pearson to a Copper Creek house for dinner, meet-and-greet inside the terminal. Wednesday: a medical day to Cortellucci, ten minutes east. Thursday: a Sunday-drive couple from Thornhill doing the McMichael and lunch in the village by the hour, and a photographer's production day in a Sprinter on the estates. Friday: two SUVs to Blue Mountain via Highway 50 and the Hockley Valley for a ski weekend. Saturday: a wedding — the stretch from a Copper Creek estate to St. Peter's in Woodbridge, the McMichael grounds, Chateau Le Jardin — and a Copper Creek corporate golf day's Sprinter from the Highway 7 hotels. Sunday: the ski weekend home, and the airport for the weekend's guests. All from cars positioned in the village.
Kleinburg's calendar
The Binder Twine Festival on the Saturday after Labour Day closes Islington through the village and fills every street with visitors; bookings that day are routed via Nashville Road and Highway 27 and the pickup spots agreed in advance. The McMichael's exhibition openings and galas bring downtown traffic up the 427 on a weekday evening. Wedding season fills the McMichael grounds with photo sessions every Saturday from May to October, and the chauffeurs know the gallery's arrival area is busy at three. The Christmas season brings the village's lights and the December dinners. Winter brings the ski weekends north and the 3 a.m. sun-charter departures from Pearson and Hamilton. The estates' families travel more than most of Vaughan, and the airport run from a Kleinburg gate is the community's signature booking.
Nobleton, Bolton and the countryside north
Kleinburg is the gateway to the country north and west: Nobleton ten minutes up Highway 27 with its golf and its new subdivisions, King City fifteen minutes north-east with the country clubs and the King Township estates, Bolton ten minutes west on Highway 50 with Caledon beyond it, and the Hockley Valley forty-five minutes north via Airport Road. Each is in the service area and each is a pickup a Kleinburg-positioned car reaches in minutes — which is why the estates of King and the horse farms of Caledon book from this base. The Blue Mountain route explains the Highway 50 road north.
The gate, the dog and the notes field
A Kleinburg pickup goes right when the notes are right: the gate code or "text and I'll open"; the instruction to come to the door for a grandparent; the dog in a carrier so the right vehicle is sent; the flight number; the child seats. The chauffeur's night-before call confirms all of it, and the 5:15 a.m. departure from a Nashville Road estate to Terminal 1 runs as quietly as the road at that hour. It is the booking this base was positioned for.
What Kleinburg residents actually book
The airport, from the gate, on time. The McMichael, for the photographs and the galas. Dinner in the village and downtown. The ski weekend and the cottage. And the corporate week, one line at a time on an account. All from cars that are already in the village, which is the only way a Kleinburg pickup is ever on time.
Kleinburg: questions answered
How does the chauffeur handle a gated driveway?
Put the gate code, or 'text on arrival', in the notes at booking. The chauffeur will not ring a bell at 5 a.m. Long driveways take sedans, SUVs and usually Sprinters; a stretch is checked the night before.
How long is Kleinburg to Pearson?
Twenty-two to twenty-five minutes off-peak — east on Major Mackenzie to the 427 extension, south to the 409 — and 30 to 40 in the morning rush because of Major Mackenzie's construction.
Do you do McMichael weddings and galas?
Yes — the McMichael is the most-used photo location in Vaughan and hosts weddings and galas; the chauffeurs know the main gate and the grounds' arrival area. The McMichael guide has the detail.
What about the Binder Twine Festival weekend?
Islington closes through the village for the day in September; bookings that weekend are routed around it and pickup spots agreed in advance.
How long is Kleinburg to Blue Mountain via Highway 50?
About 95 to 105 minutes via Highway 50, Airport Road and Highway 124 through the Hockley Valley — two-lane roads, and the chauffeur's choice when the 400 is stopped on a Friday.
Do you serve Nobleton and King City from Kleinburg?
Yes — both are ten to fifteen minutes north and are served from the same base at the same terms.
How early is a Kleinburg pickup for a 7 a.m. international flight?
Around 3:40 to 3:50 — three hours before departure plus twenty-five minutes on Major Mackenzie and the 427 and a margin. The confirmation states the exact time and the chauffeur is at the gate five minutes before it.
